Will an automatic sprinkler system use more water than watering by hand?"

No. An efficiently designed automatic sprinkler system is specifically designed to save you water by applying only the correct volume of water to your garden and lawn when needed.

Can you install a system that automatically shuts off when it rains?

Yes. A Rain Sensor is very important as it will detect when rain falls and shut your sprinkler system down while it rains. You can therefore rest easy knowing you save from spending money on wasted water, as well as doing your part in caring for the environment.

Will a sprinkler system save me time?

Yes. Automatic Sprinkler Systems are designed with control systems which enable you to set the frequency and duration of watering your garden, so you do not have to.

Will an automatic sprinkler system water each plant as well as I do by hand?

Yes. In fact, your Automatic Sprinkler Systems will water your garden even more efficiently as the system can be designed to water each portion of your garden differently and independently. What are the components of an automatic sprinkler system?

Your Sprinkler system will be designed to have PVC pipelines which distribute water to different areas in your garden, a control station to set the frequency and duration of waterflow to the different areas known as zones, valves to open and close the water flow as set by the control system, sprinkler heads to spray the water in the different zones, and usually a rain sensor to stop the distribution or water when it rains. Sensors to measure the water content level in the soil can also be installed, as well as drip irrigation lines to pin-point accurate water distribution for certain plants if needed.

Will I be able to install an automatic sprinkler system on my own?

Yes. It is possible to install your own system as a DIY project. Keep in mind the tools and equipment needed to complete the task, the measurement of your waterflow and water pressure before designing the number of zones and number of sprinkler heads per zone, and the type of sprinkler heads used to reach the desired range. You need to know your county' plumbing and electrical codes to ensure you comply to all regulations prior to the installation as you do not want to go back and modify the system afterward. This can become very costly.

Will I save money by installing my own system?

No. In most cases it will become more expensive as you will need the correct tools and equipment, and the experience to install underground pipeline systems. You will also need the knowledge and experience of designing effective and efficient systems for a range of different garden types, all in accordance with electrical and underground code regulations.

How do I choose the right contractor to install my sprinkler system?

For a properly designed system to be installed according to code and regulations, you need to choose a contractor that will complete the project properly by going through all the necessary steps.

When u call us, we will schedule for a site visit to assess your needs and requirements. We will also measure, test and determine your property 's water pressure, flow rate, and position of origin.

Following, we will draw up a site plan to produce a layout which will include the type of irrigation required, sprinkler heads location, pipeline layout, the automated control station design best suited to your needs. This will also include any additional control measures required such as a back flow preventor, rain sensor and/or a water content sensor to measure the moisture level in your soil.

If your contractor has good references and conforms to these requirements all in accordance with code, you should have a winner.

Do I need to install an expensive sprinkler system?

No. The cost of all the equipment can vary significantly as it all depends on the size of the project, and the specific requirements of each customer.

The cost of a simple installation with a few sprinklers and a control station to manage only one zone, will cost far less than a garden requiring three or more zones with the need to install a rain sensor and a water content sensor to measure the moisture level in your soil.

We do however recommend using equipment from reputable companies as we offer a warranty on all our work and need to ensure our customers experience the performance from their sprinkler systems that they deserve.

Is it difficult to operate or set a sprinkler system timer?

No. The control stations are very easy to program and to make any changes as and when desired. Some of these systems can even be set from an app on your phone and has features such as temperature, rainfall, and weather changes according to which it automatically selects the frequency and duration of the watering cycles.

Our technicians will show and demonstrate how to set the control station to ensure you are comfortable with using one.

Is drip irrigation efficient and effective?

Drip irrigation systems are very effective and allows for great water savings. These systems are designed to pi-point the placement of water only at the roots and areas where it is needed. This eliminates wasteful water as areas where there is no growth required cannot encourage weed growth, and there is no excess water causing erosion. Drip irrigation runs on low pressure and therefore saves water tremendously, while also supporting conservation of the environment.

How do I choose the best type of system for my garden?

When selecting the best type of system during the design phase, it is important to keep in mind what the water pressure and water flow rate is. Then, depending on the type of plants, shrubs, and trees (and their water needs) it is also important to take the typical weather conditions and soil type into consideration. Taking everything onto consideration will support the best design for the best tailor-made system needed for your specific garden.

What is included in sprinkler maintenance services?

Maintenance should be done monthly or twice during every season. This will keep your sprinkler system running at an optimum level and support your lawn and garden to maintain its best condition. Scheduled routine maintenance should involve setting the control station to water the garden at the best frequency and duration for each zone. The electrical system needs to be checked and tested to be in proper working order. The battery must be checked and replaced if necessary. Each sprinkler head should be checked for proper operation and set to cover the desired area. All valves and back flow valve need to be checked for proper operation. As each garden grows and certain plants cover greater areas, certain sprinkler heads may need to be re-position to cover the garden optimally.
